Weybridge- Situated
on the banks of the River Thames, in the home county of Surrey, Weybridge
enjoys a well deserved reputation for exclusivity and quality of life.
Its attributes are many which make this town both popular and fashionable.
Cobham- A quintessentially
English village where many of the ancient shops and houses date back
to the 18th century. It has an air of timeless elegance enhanced by
the meandering River Mole. Cobham Mill and the charming old buildings
attract attention. Coffee bars, restaurants and shops are abuzz during
the day with locals, visitors, and expatriates enjoying the peaceful
ambience.
Esher- Although Esher
is a busy modern thoroughfare, echoes of the past are evident in several
old remains and buildings. Esher Place Gatehouse is all that remains
of Esher Place home of the Bishop of Winchester in the 15th century.
A memorial to Queen Victoria sits in a small green and the unusual
16th century church of St George tucked into the side of the High
Street had in its congregation Queen Victoria and Prince Albert when
they stayed at nearby Claremont.
Guildford- Steeped
in history, the beautiful town of Guildford offers good recreational
and modern shopping facilities. There is evidence of settlements dating
from the year 500 AD and by the 10th century Guildford had become
the commercial centre of Surrey marked by the establishment of the
Royal Mint in the town. The tower of the church of St Mary's one of
the surviving part of Saxon Guildford. Today it is a delightful town
retaining much of its historical charm. The closeness of the Castle
dating back to the 11th century and the river provide unexpected treasures
amongst the activity of a thriving town.
